Why hasn’t anyone called out Steve Jobs on Kindle?

When I first started my Tumblr, I had meant to write about Steve Jobs’ comments on whether or not people read anymore.  Check out the intro to this story from Read Write Web, about two years ago now:

When Amazon introduced their e-book reader, the Kindle, Steve Jobs made a strong proclamation regarding the book industry that received a lot of attention: “It doesn’t matter how good or bad the product is, the fact is that people don’t read anymore… The whole conception is flawed at the top because people don’t read anymore.”

This really seemed off to me.  I never got around to writing about it (not that I have readers anyway), but Q4 Kindle sales were as strong a rebuttal as any.
